Antique Oliver Tractor: Oliver Super 77 Diesel

This tractor replaced the Oliver 77 and was a 3 or 4-plow tractor. It was available in all of the original Model 77 variations, plus the new adjustable wide-front row crop. The "Hydra-Lectric" three-point hitch was available on all versions of the Super 77. |

We want to get it back to original and wanted to know where to find a diesel engine to replace the gas. We are new to this but after attending a few antique tractor pulls my husband and I fell in love so this is our new project. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I need a complete seat and suspension along with an intake and exhaust manifold. It does run great, so quiet. I have always wanted one so when this one came along I didn t hesitate to purchace it. danny thompson wrote on Tuesday, November 08, 2005 (PST):I was given a 1956 Oliver Super 77 diesel. It is a row crop, but it has only one steering tire. All the pictures I see are of Super 77's is two steering wheels. Can anyone let me know if this is odd or what? I am not a farmer, but I like this tractor. It also has 3 point hitch, live pto and a bracket bolted to the front for what what would seem to be for a bucket or other implement. It has a 12 volt system installed on it and starts real nice and the engine purrs like a kitten, brand new rear tires, I bought the tractor for $800 and I am just wondering what it is worth, even know I am definently not going to sell it.

It runs great and I plan to complete the restoration. I would like to know what the original colour scheme of this tractor was. I have seen several combinations, but want to do mine original. I also need the original rear wheel rims which were 11-38 I believe. I would also like to replace the hood, cowl and grills. The front side curtains are missing so I would also like to buy them. I am really enjoying my Oliver and plan to buy at least one more. Any help I can get will be appreciated. I want to order the paint as soon as I know which colours to buy.

Jim got me new rims for my Super 77 at a price that was in line or just a little more than most people wanted for used ones. I also got all new tires from him for my 77. The price is right , but I would like to locate a good used block , and or parts motor , before we take the plunge . I bought a 1956 Super 77 diesel from the orignal owner. The tractor was in good shape and runs great. All I had to do was a major cleaning. I replaced the gauges, steering wheel,front tires ( rear tires in the spring). A very helpful hint to remove all the grease and dirt. Use easy off oven cleaner. It takes paint and all. So if you are not planning to paint your tractor DON't USE IT. I'll try to send a before and after picture over the net. thanks for the sight craig
