This is a scaled down version of the Oliver 77. It featured the same six-speed transmission and the same engine except with 4-cylinders instead of 6.

I have a 1951 Oliver 66 that I rescued out of a fence row 25 years ago, completely overhauled the engine, 3 3/4 M Ws milled the head , installed a hydraulic system, and 12 volt system, 13.6X38 tires. It showed 42 hp on a dyno, runs real good. Still use it on 7 ft brush cutter to mow water ways and road banks. .

My Dad and brother was in the process of restoring a 66 Row Crop when my brother was killed in a farming accident in 1985. My dad finished the mechanical part of the restoration shortly afterwards. Now, 20 years later, the tractor still runs great. My mom keeps it in a shed and my husband and I use it to mow, rake and bale hay all summer long. In the fall, our neighbor has a plowing party that consists only of old tractors, and we use this one then also. It is a wonderful machine. If you are looking for a smaller tractor like this one, check e-bay. They are on there all the time.

My dad had one of these . For it's size it had alot of power,we plulled two sixteen inch plows with it. Dad had it overhauled and had a 660 kit put in it. He should of had it changed to a 12v ignition.

Just finished restoring a 1951 Oliver Row Crop 66, "1951." Easy to find parts, Korvas Brothers were a great help. the hardest parts to find were the wheels and the radiator. this was a two year project. My final cost was approx. $1190 with about 200 hours of labor. Olivers look great when they come out of the paint booth. Good luck to all who are restoring your efforts will be rewarded in the end.

My dad bought our Oliver 66 brand new in 1954 when I was six years old, the last tractor sold by that particular dealership in Parkersburg, WV. It is equiped with live PTO and hydraulectric hydraulic system with the controls on the steering column, a radical improvement over my grandad's '39 Oliver 70 with no PTO or hydraulics and my uncle's '48 model 70 with direct PTO and gear driven lift. The 66 with a Cosh side mounted sickle bar mower and New Holland 66 hayliner baler mowed and baled hay on nearly 200 combined acres for at least ten years, before my uncle and grandad upgraded to 77s and later to a 1250 and then a 1465. I still use the 66 equiped with a six foot finish mower to mow my acre of lawn and with a six foot three point hitch blade to plow snow and keep the half mile of housing development road graded. It also rakes and tedds most of our 15 or so acres of hay each summer. It's been overhauled twice years ago, but in recent years with the advent of unleaded fuel and decidedly lighter workload, it purs like kitten and runs flawlessly. I would be interested in any source of parts, though I'm surprised by the number of parts available through NAPA and Parts Plus or Bumper-to-bumper auto supply houses.

I’ve just bought a 1952 Rowcrop 66 w/ wide front end (gasoline) and the wiring loom has been cut in several places including between the dash and the hydra-lectric unit. The three-point lift has a single cylinder yo the right of the floorboard, and appears to function properly (lifts up & down w/ lever in front of seat) . There doesn’t appear to be any other hydraulics anywhere else on the tractor. Can you tell me what “hydra-lectric” is? I also need to find a wiring diagram for this tractor. I was told it is part of the original 1400 page manual, but I can’t afford the 139.00 price tag. Any ideas?

Have a well-preserved 1963 Oliver 1800 (gas) with 2500 hours on it. It has a like-new Ford bucket loader professionally installed, & it's a perfect match. Also have a 7' Woods shredder and the 1800 handles those heavy foxtail CRP acres with ease. I sowed it all to prairie & don't need the tractor much any more. Anyone know a good venue for reaching interested buyers?

Just bought a row crop 66 1957 vintage. I am the second owner as it belonged to my brother in laws uncle who purchased it new in 1957. I have the orginal fenders and lights and it runs great. I was also given original service manual. I tried to service the front wheel bearings with oil as is recommended but it ran out. The seals are bad. Does anyone have a source for the wheel bearing seals? I also need a temp guage and a new steering wheel as the coating is falling off. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

My father passed away in March. He owned 2 Olivers; 1 66 Row crop and 1 77 w/ front loader. They both run great. I love the sound of them. Mom still has them. Not interested in selling, just wanted to add my comments. Dad had a picture of the 77 put on his cemetery marker a few years before he passed away. He even won a tractor pull with the 77 in the 1950's. I am hoping one day to restore one or both. I have a poster of a 77 that I found at a 5 & 10 store.

I have a 66 Diesel with wide front end. The tractor was given to me by a friend, he said that the clutch was "out" however when I got it home I found that the pressure plate bolts had come loose. I have had the tractor about 15 years and restored it then. I currently have a problem with the starter switch. Does anyone have a spare switch? The switch is the same on the 77 & 88 tractors up to the serial number when they changed the hood to the big opening for the battery. Any help with parts would be appreciated. My grandpa bought one new in '53, we still have the receipt where he paid $1200. Replacing a steel weeled oliver 70. The second year they had it they farmed five hundred acers of row crops with it and a 30 Ferguson. It has had 3 complete overhauls and 2 ptos. We estimate about 40,000 hrs,and is a daily runner with the original 6-volt system.

My dad purchased one of these tractors brand new and still has it and uses it today. It is a 1951 model and was delivered to our farm on Christmas Eve of 1950. It was the first tractor sold in Emporia Ks that had the "live" hydraulic system (hydralectric) with dual remotes and the "live" PTO.

I am curently in posetion of a oliver 66 deisel wide front tractor and In the past 4 years of ownership have learned a great deal about it. The tractor my father and I purchased had a super series frame under it and because of the serial number we belive it to be one of the last tractors. with a shortage of frames oliver bolted a super frame to it which would also explane the wide front and deisel engine. If your tractor has a super frame for the same reason I would like to hear about it.

We are having trouble finding out what colors actually belong where. Does any one have any good resources or potos to share? We have purchased several books.
