  • I have an Oliver Super 99 Diesel sitting in by backyard in Western Montana. It was parked, with cultivator still attached, a while back, and just left. The tires are even still holding air. A little TLC to the fuel and electrical systems and some body work with a paint job, and this tractor would restore nicely. How much would you be looking to spend to pick it up? Please don't try to lowball me on this, as I will just do the restoration myself for use in tractor pulls and parades instead of agree to sell it.

  • A friend of mine has an Oliver tractor. It is a Super 99, 3 cylinder diesel engine with a GM blower. I believe it was made in 1957-58. It hasn't been started for five years, still turns over. It moves but there is a problem with the transmission. Tin is in good shape, tires hold air but are checked. We would like to know what this tractor is worth in current condition or what it would be worth if we restore it.

Terry E. Phillips wrote on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 (PDT):
  • I remember when my brother and I drove this brand new tractor home to the farm. We spent many thousands of hours on it, ruining our hearing in the process, of course. We overhauled the 3 cylinder Jimmy engine several times and replaced the transmission and differential because they were not designed for the additional power of the engine. The Donaldson oil bath air cleaners were just not enough to keep the fine western Kansas dust out of the engine.

  • I bought a Super 99GM at an auction in N. Dak. 2 years ago. It has since been restored and is a super tractor. I need some information regarding it. I have only 4 gears, but realize there are probably 8. I also have 36" tires instead of the 24" I read about. I am not on the internet at home for a couple of weeks yet, so please call me at (480)488-1850, I'll call you back so that it does not cost you money. I would also like to know if anybody knows any information about this tractor. It sat in a barn since 1977 until the auction in Aug. 2003. Thanks!

It was in a barn that burnt down and was in very bad shape. fired it up last week end, had not run in 25 years but with new injectors it ran like it had never sat at all. My fenders and hood were destroyed by heat and fire. the heat warp is to major to repair. can anyone help me in finding a set of rear fenders, hood, steering wheel, tachometer. even if they are junk I would still be interested in seeing photo's and maybe I would have something to at least work with. Call between 10am and noon any week day or anythime weekends. (765) 498-4011

It was a sight to see in the late 50' and early 60's. I could cover 160 acs. in no time. I have a Franklin Mint 1/12 scale version of it now, but would like to find a full size one someday.

  • I am writing this letter in hoping and praying that I might find someone, who can direct me and help me find out how much my dad's John Deer Tractor is worth so that my mom can sell it and get what she deserves. My dad passed away a little over 2 years ago, and we would rather find some one who would take good care of it and put in some work hours with it. If anyone can direct us and tell us what to look for that will lead us to the answers that will help us find out how much its worth, that would be great. Thank you, Cheryl

A neighbor purchased it and uses it regularly. They were a great tractor and brings back many fond memories from my youth.
