  • I recently competed in an antique tractor pull, in Cecel Co. Md. Contest was called "The Detroit Shootout" only Oliver models Super 99's 990's & Massey 98's could compete. I placed 4th with my 990, but the Gal. from Penn. came in first place with her Massey 98.Thats pretty good, going against 14 other Detroits.

  • Darrell; The distinctive "yellow" colors on Olivers were generally industrial/construction models. I think the only difference was the paint otherwise the tractors I saw (a few) were identical to Agriculteral models. SeaBee Mal

  • In Sweden I have an old Olover from 1946, called Oliver 35. I know the Swedish agency, Sodesrberg&Haak, renamed the models and instead of using the American numbers, Soderberg&Haak changed it to how many horse-powers the tractors had. Just one thing, what was the American Model of this Swedish model Oliver 35? This model is not a stream-lined model, it has a four cylinder engine, wide front and 28" rear rims/wheels. I have heard different model types of this Oliver 35 here in the US, Oliver 99, Oliver 80 and also Oliver 35. Please help me to clear up my mind about my Oliver. Regards, Lars

  • I own a 1956 Super 99 GM which I bought six years ago. Before restoring it I used it in the field plowing and field cultivating. When field cultivating I would drop an 18 ft. field cultivator in the ground and let it go in fourth gear. It never even phased it as it went down the field. When I went to bed at night my ears just rang. Dave Boelman Belmond, Iowa
