8N Ford - Front Axle Support Housing?? - This was bolted on a 8N Engine for the Support housing. Much stronger then I have seen befor. Could be a Ferguson mount but all the parts on it were Ford. Mark H.

Case SC - Serial Number Location On Block - Since the question about where to find the serial number on this tractor comes up all the time- I thought that I would post a photo;<P>If the serial number/model plate is missing from the dashboard- you can also find the serial number stamped onto the engine block as well.<P>The number is located on the left side of the tractor (in the direction of travel) - and is stamped into the flange where the engine block is bolted to the rear end of the tractor.<P>Comparing the serial numbers with your data plate can be useful to see if your engine block (or your dashboard) has been replaced in the past.<P>I have seen the format of the block numbers stamped in different ways-<P>My 1945 SC engine is stamped SC4910988, while my 1949 SC is stamped 5315794SC.<P>I never knew the serial number was there- as the numbers are usually under paint and dirt- A quick swipe with a small wire brush will enable you to read and record them. Hope this photo helps someone.<P>I would like to ask that everyone add their tractors to the Case registry when they find their serial numbers!
