1941 John Deere A Styled On Steel

[Return to Photos]

1941 John Deere A Styled On Steel - Taken in 1941 near McCook, NE showing my father and my oldest brother. The JD A was bought new that year and we used the drill up thru the 1970s. The A was used up to the late '70s along with a 1944 A, 1939 9N, Massey 44 gas and a Massey 55 Diesel. The pictured tractor was later fitted with rubber drive tires. I put in quite a few hours on all of our tractors and now own a 1949 Ford S/N 8N203957 and a 1959 Ferguson TO35 Deluxe gas S/N SGM196854. My co-workers think I'm nuts to be involved with old tractors. They'll never know how much enjoyment I've gotten from using and working on these relics.
