  • Peoria became part of Farm Tools Inc. in the 1930s along with several other old shortline companies. In the 40s and 50s they built grain drills and drop spreaders for Ford-Dearborn. After that ended, the ceased operations. This particular item most likely predates WWII, maybe even the Depression. I have no idea how to value it, but it certainly is a one of a kind.

  • I used to work in Peoria, so when I saw your post I tried to do some digging for you. This was online in an article about Peoria manufacturing. Not sure if you want to follow up on this or not. Good luck farm machinery manufacturing by William Nurse in 1837. Also, two men called Toby and Anderson brought the steel plow circa 1843, which gained immediate success. The dominant manufacturing companies in Peoria were Kingman Plow Co., Acme Harvester Co., Selby, Starr & Co., and Avery Manufacturing Co. In 1889
