Antique Allis Chalmers Tractor: AC G

[Allis Chalmers G Parts]     [Return to the Shed]

This little tractor was a radical departure from the rest of the AC production line. It was designed for small farm jobs and truck farming. AC did not produce an engine that was small enough to fit the tractor, so a small Continental engine was used. A full line of implements were offered specifically for the AC Model G.

  • I'm just amazed at how many "G people there are - our neighbor, when I was a kid (30+/- years ago) had an orange AC G tractor that he used on their small farm, and had built a trailer that we used to haul our trash to the dump with. My sister and I have great memories of going for a tractor ride with "Mister Mac" when he was hauling things. I was always fascinated with the tractor, simply because the G was such an unusual machine. I remember Mister Mac having to manually crank the engine to start it, but it always started on the 1st or 2nd try - I only remember one occasion when it was being stubborn. I'm glad to see so many people still interested in these, restoring them and appreciating the craftsmanship, durability and sentimental value that they have. Unfortunately, I live in the city and can't have one to play with, so I'm jealous of those who can!!

  • Although I live in Tucson, AZ, my father owned a model G that we would be interested in selling. It is located near Batesville, AR; my father passed away earlier this month but owned and maintained it for ~45 yrs. We really don't know the value of it, but it did run fine as of this last autumn; no one has tried to start it since. For most of its life, the tractor was kept in a barn or garage, but for the last ~5 years, a tarp was used. I don't have a serial no. or year available right now. It has a pto and hydraulic lift. Dad bought it with a plow but left it behind when he moved from Ohio. Mounted on the tractor now is a Woods rotary mower which Dad used regularly. If you are interested in purchasing this tractor, please return my email or call me at your convenience. Jack Hopwood - Office Ph. No. 520-744-5505, Home no. 520-544-7797

  • I have located a 1952 AC "G" model which my friend wants to sell. It is in fair condition. It has been outside for about 9 years. It seems to be complete but there are no attachments. The enginge is locked but all together. What is a fair price for both he and I.

  • We have 3 "G" tractors, 2 48s and a 49 at the Colorado State University Experiment Station at Fort Collins. We would like to find a newer tractor with the same features and a little more HP. John Blue Co. made one shortly after AC quit production on the "G" but only produced about a hundred and they are extremely rare. They called it the "Super G 1000". It used a Ford engine about the size of the NAA tractor engine. I am interested in finding out about any that are available.
