  • Hi Some 50 years ago I worked on a farm in england united kingdom, on the fame was a mm tractor, I believe it was used by the USA airbase in the uk, the front wheels were tight together, I think it was for working crops, from memory it had a straight 6 cylinder petrol gas side valve engine, wide rubber rear tyres, and the rear wheel were covered mudgards no idea of model, age etc, was 20 years ahead of anything in england at the time, I do remember the hand clutch lever, and Lights, unheard of at the time, is there anybody out there that can help me track down what model etc it was, and how it would have been in the uk, other than the us air base

  • Tis is a UTU wartime model with cast steering wheel. In wartime rubber was short so MM used cast steering wheels. They were also used on Z, and G s.

  • My uncle, Martin House, went to kill a steer for butchering, and having left his .22 rifle at the house, took a long yellow wrench off the old "minnie" and smacked that steer between the eyes, dropping it like a rock.

  • My grandson has a 1954 MM UTU that runs on LPG, that means Liquified Petrolium Gas. That tractor is rusty now, it has power steering. It has a new Goodyear left rear 15.5 x 38 tire. That's all I have to say about that.

  • Tractor is a Red Nose "UTU". Minneapolis-Moline did not make a "UTV" The header for the photo is a mis-type. I own a 1948 UTU - the "UTU" Is broken down as follows - First Letter "U" - Tractor Model. "T" - Tractor. "U" - Universal. If this were a wide front fixed front end it would be a "UTS" Single front wheel is "UTN". There is also "UTI" (Industrial model). Also there is a "UTE" - wide front end that is adjustable. Hope this helps. Phil

  • I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that umbrella. We had one we used on our Z model that looked very similar. It fit right into a stanchion pipe just to the right of the steering column
