Mark Vandaele wrote on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 (PDT):Our family worked the land for many years using the reliable power of Minneapolis Moline Tractors. My Grandfather Harry Vandaele owned one of the first diesal tractors from MM. This tractor is now on display at the museum in Austin MB. My Uncle Glenn Vandaele proudly drove this tractor in the 100th centeniall celebration in Medora MB where the Vandaele has farmed for several generations. My father Vern Vandaele started his farming days with a G900 and even today nearly 30 years later a G1000 owned by my Grandfather has been pulled out of retirment and assists by running a grain auger in the busy season. My son Cole, now the fourth generation of Vandaele's is excited to ride the old "U" one day in the parade at Austin MB.

mgood wrote on Monday, June 24, 2002 (PDT): I was raised on the earlier UTS models on lp. Durable was not an adequate term. The UTS models would actually out last their owners ; the UTU models were arm breakers; but if You could stay with them You could depend on many years of cotton corn farming with these models with little or no trouble...
Jim Posey wrote on Friday, March 29, 2002 (PST):In 1954-55, I worked on my uncle's farm in Blythe, Cal. He had a butane MM-U that I drove a lot disking alfalfa fields for replanting. I liked that machine very much. it never failed us, and I can't remember ever doing much maintenance work on it other than changing oil and interminable greasing. I never was on another one, but I also ran a Farmall H a lot for lighter duty work. That was a fun machine too, Wish I had them both today!

Charles Vesser wrote on Sunday, July 25, 1999 (PDT): I own a 1956 UTS Special these machines are a unique breed to say the least. As a general rule they crank very easy, are kinda hard to steer (unless you have muscle power to spare) a couple of items to note on the 1956 model is they have DIC-BRAKES and the adjusting rod is reverse threaded, mine seems to run the best on Champion D-16 plugs. I would advise anyone who uses one in a isloated area to always carry a fire extingusher on board, due to the fact the battery is almost next to the fuel tank. Also one item to note is the 12 volt electric is POSTIVE GROUND. I like mine very well and will probably never get rid of it,its kinda like a old stray dog you adjust to it and it adjusts to you.
