This tractor was produced from 1930 to 1937 and was the successor to the Hart-Parr 18-36. It used a 4-cylinder 443 CID kerosene-burning valve-in-head engine and was able to pull 4 or 5-bottom plows. |

Hart - Parr Works Charles City, Iowa The radiator just has oliver cast in it. Can anyone tell me what the heck this really is? I can see the maple leaf and Cockshutt under two coats of green paint on the gas tank.
Lindsay Waite wrote on Sunday, December 28, 2003 (PST):We have a 28-44 serial #508245. As far as I can find out it is a 1938 model. It was left to my grandfather by a family friend and both have passed on. On this web site it is listed as an Oliver Hart Parr. However, ours has a large Cockshutt cast into the rad with a smaller Hart Parr underneath it. The tag on the side of the engine block calls it an Oliver. Is this right or has the rad come off a newer model?

Fred Lehman Mt Vernon, Ia. wrote on Wednesday, December 06, 2000 (PST):I owned and drove a 28-44 Oliver Hart Parr from 1955 to 1960. It was a fine tractor. I pulled a 4 bottom Case plow at 5 miles per hour and it hardly open the governor. I removed the belt pulley and mounted a hydraulic pump leaving the pto. free to operate field chopper and other pto operated machinery. It had a 12 mile per hour road gear and was of course on rubber. To crank it you stood on the right side facing backward and turned the crank a quarter turn. In 1960 I trade for a tractor with a starter lights etc. but never had that kind of power again.
