1937 BN John Deere

This photo was taken at our local West Ridge Mall where we just completed our 4th annual indoor show. The BN was my grandfather's first and only tractor. I had my first driving experience on this tractor. The 'N' in BN means it has a single front wheel. Made very easy steering while cultivating 6 rows of sugar beets. The two-way plow was needed so that we could plow from one side of the field to the other without a dead furrow. The land was flood irrigated so no extra ditches were wanted in the middle of the field. Just think, at 16 inches at a time across the field, how long would it take to plow your land??
