1949 Farmall M

This tractor was purchased new in Stroudsburg PA by my great grandfather, obveously when my uncle who has the farm right now wanted to sell it I could not let it go to someone outside of the family, so I took to restoring her to factory condition. It was overhauled twice in its life but other than firecrater pistons and the chrome strait pipe (just for looks for the picture), it is all original. The tractor took me over five months to restore and I even went to the extreme of getting the right color (IH #50) red mixed at NAPA. The wheels are argent silver taken from a paint code from a 1956 cadilac. It was the closest that I could find to the original galvenized color that it came equiped from the factory. Then all the paint was coverd with three coats of clear to help preserve the restoration. You should have seen my grandfathers face when my dad drove it from the shed to the driveway when we finshed. Right then I knew that this tractor would never be sold to anyone outside of the family. Dave. Submitted by David Koehler, from PA
