John Deere Model L 1942

This tractor has been passed down in the family with several farming implements. They are ; 1) John Deere No. 7 Power Mower 2) L-2 Integral Plow 3) Home made snow plow 4) Other farming implements that may or may not be for this tractor. The question I have for you is we have two metal 'rods', for lack of a better term, that came with the tractor. These 'rods' are about 3 1/2 feet in length and 2 3/8 inches in diameter. They fit very nicely in the pipe frame of the tractor. They are open on one end and tapered shut on the other. They still have some green paint on them as if they do go with the tractor. Does anyone know if these 'rods' are part of the tractor, and if so what are they used for and where do the go? Submitted by Jeff Exton, from OH
