1930S Braden 2-H Hand Winch

This winch was sitting in the weeds and stuck. Two of the three cross members were bent and it was rusted up. I tanked each piece and used electrolytic rust removal then painted the frame and spool with Hammerite. For a stronger finish on the hand wheels they were sent out for powder coat. 100# on the wheels equates to 2000# pull on the spool. I contacted the Braden Co. and learned the mfg. dates. They surprised me with a reprinted spec. sheet and booklet about their company's history. They stopped manufacturing 'hand winches' in the late 30's. They sold the last of their stock of these winches in the early 40's. It will mount proudly on my trailer to assist loading of rolling stock headed for tractor shows. Submitted by Tyler Woods, from TX
