John Deere #7 Sheller PIC1

This was my grandpa and his brother's custom corn sheller rig. It appears to be a #7 that was mounted on a truck at one time and the frame cut off and a hitch put on. Method of power was usually my grandpa's 4010 with a turbo (picture in tractor section) or his brother's 3010 with a turbo, sometimes grandpa's 3020 and occasionally his brother's 4440. They put alot of work into this sheller and were one of the last custom outfits running in NW Iowa. It had been modified and improved many times by the two industrious brothers. This was a very fast sheller -- it could fill a semi trailer in around an 1 and a half to two hours. I shoveled alot of corn into this thing! Im one of few men my age that can say they've done that! The auger in the foreground was used to auger corn out of cribs without a center drag trench. When my grandpa retired in 2004, this sheller was sold, but it didnt bring alot because hardly anyone shells anymore.
