Ihc 10/20 8 Wheel Drive

Whats left of a 'W.A.Riddell Company' (later to become known as 'WARCO') 'OCTOPUS' grader conversion on a 10/20 frame. Someone removed the extended grader frame and blade, then tried to reinstall a stock tractor front axle back on this, no doubt thinking the 8 wheels would pull any load. Trouble is, the tractors differential gears were replaced with a spool to give both sides of the grader equal traction. Not too much of a problem when your steering wheels are 30 feet away at the front of the grader, but one heck of a problem when they are just 5 feet ahead of the direct-geared drivers! I'll bet it only took one trip around the yard (with a estimated turning radius of at least 100 feet!) to realize this wasnt such a good idea.... Submitted by Dale, from MI
