1957 Farmall Cub

I bought this tractor back in 04. I had tried several times to buy this old girl but the guy kept backing out at the last minute. The previous owner could'nt solve the problems he was having so one day he just called and ask me if I was still interested in buying it cause he had given up on her. He priced her for 1,000.00 with the sickle bar that works, plows and the discs. Needless to say, I went immediately and lay the money in his hand before he changed his mind again. She only had 1 rust spot on her and that was at the battery box so I replaced all the sheet metal there. The problem he was having was overheating and that was a radiator so she got a new one. The fan shroud had hit something and the blades were bent on the fan, so she got a new shroud and fan, the hydraulics were'nt working right when she got hot, and all it needed was cleaning the filters and he had been putting Hyd. oil in it that was'nt heavy enough and he was putting to much in it so that was causing the leak when it got hot makeing it boil. He had the coil hooked up backwards so that was burning up the points. The old girl was in desperate need of a face lift but I took her down to the motor and frame and started in. The engine needed nothing but new points and the downdraft carburator taken apart and cleaned and the fuel tank cleaned out from years of gook and gum, so now she purrs like a kitten. In less than 2 weeks I had her back together, painted, and plowing the garden. Of course I have no idea what shes worth in true value, but shes worth a lot to me. I even have the origional light housings front and back but there not on her here, but even the origional switch is on her and it puts the power to the lights. I went as far as ordering all the decals and stickers for her and putting them where they belonged. Anyway, finished up, I still have less than 1,300.00 in the old timer and a little bit of work. Im not bragging in any way, just that sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough and I got lucky. I hope anyone looking at her can appreciate her as much as I do, shes my baby.
