Mid 1940s Case

This is my Grandfather Walter Shuler in April 1955 on his Case tractor in Aldrich MO. He bought it new in the 1940s and it was one of the first tractors in this area on rubber tires. He passed away in 1963 when I was just one year old. His tractor sold for 500 at his sale and the Army corps of eng bought his farm and flooded all the bottom land when they put a dam on the Sac river that ran through his place to make Stockton Lake. This photo and the stories my Dad tells me are all I have of the grandpa I never new. Sometimes I stare at the photo and I can feel the cold wind and here the purr of his old case. It makes me smile.
