Farmall M Ammeter Trouble

The meter box was full of wasp nests and spider webs. In cleaning the black wire on the far left came off, but I did not see where it was attached. It's a newer meter that does not resemble the origingal wiring diagram. The tractor has been converted to 12V. Does anyone know where this wire should be connected? Also does the coiled wire (resistor?) in the bottom center need to be replaced? I can't tell if it had some kind of coating on it or if it's corrosion. Thanks, John S-B.
