1955 Ford 800 Model 860

I bought my Ford 860 in early 2001 from the previous owner living in Kings Mill Michigan. There are a lot of Ford 8N�s up here but I needed more power to keep up with the harsh winters of Northern Michigan. I was set on the Ford design from the start, specifically the Hundred Series because that was the year Ford changed the body style to match their competitors. That plus live PTO and 5 Speed with 172 ci. After much searching for the right tractor I came back to the 800 Series. This one needed engine work and new paint but everything was there and it was a solid tractor. For 5,000.00 she came with a back blade, 2 bottom plow, 1-arm loader, bale pick, tire chains, full set of pie shaped wheel weights, 5� brush hog and a 16� tandem trailer to haul it all home with. She immediately became my second wife but once I got into the restoration project in 2005, I found there was more bodywork than met the eye. The engine was a complete overhaul, new rings, bearings, valves and a complete gasket set. I rebuilt the clutch, new breaks, radiator, wiring harness and thoroughly cleaned everything, even the starter motor. Every part was taken off, sandblasted and prepped for paint. I finished the paint myself summer 2007 and now I have a red garage. The final details, touch-up and decals will be added when I submit more pictures. I haven�t added up all the receipts but I figure I�m real close to 3000.00 in parts. Tack on my labor and I�m into this for over 11,000.00 dollars. I plan to enter a few tractor shows and maybe a local parade or two before I put her back to work.
