This was a friend of mine's tractor that I let him keep in my shed for several years. It had flat tires full of thorns, the motor was stuck, the metal was beat up, it had no lights, no belly pump, and the gas was more like tar than gasoline. I lost my mind and thought it would be a good idea to get it runnning. I did get it running after boiling the fuel tank clean, rebuilding the carb, penetrating fluid in the cylinders, and new spark plugs, battery and cables. After I told my friend what I spent to get it running he gave me the tractor. I raked hay with it and I thought it worked fine except the radiator leaked. So I took the radiator off to get it fixed. Then I thought since I have it tore done quite a bit I might as well clean it up and paint it. Then I got a concussion and when I got better I had to do harvest and then traded hay rakes for one that need hydraulics. So over the winter I found the belly pump, hood, grill, lights, put in several gaskets&seals, fixed it from popping out of fifth gear, rebuilt front steering bolster, and axle seal,new front tires and used rear tires,a new wiring harness, burnt up 3 wire brushes wheels, a gallon of paint stripper and a few loads of wood and consumed several beverages at the end of many late evenings. I have not added up what I spent or the hours and I feel It is best not to know. I do wish I had taken some before picturesbut i didn't. I finally got it painted and here it is running the auger. It is not perfect but it does the job. I may need to put a clutch in it and have rebuilt the carb again with a more expensive kit and a new venturi. It smokes a little and I assume I should redo the head. I have put the rear weights on after the picture. I don't use the tractor every day but have raked hay, hauled manure, and ran this auger.
