1903 Eli Steel Case Belt Power Baling Press Style 108

This particular model press with the castings as pictured was made by the Collins Plow Company of Quincy, IL from 1901 through 1905. All castings have been dated according to an old parts price guide. It has been very difficult finding out exactly how this press was originally painted. Clues were left where some of the castings bolted together. The biggest problem was determining what form of Eli logo was on the side of the condenser. A picture taken in June of 1901 at the Pan American Exposition of the Collins Plow Company display at the Agricultural Machinery building was the final clue. The steel wheels are also yellow but not shown on the press in this picture. Submitted by Rick Borland, from OH
