Volunteer Corn

A guys leasing a neighbors field for corn. He didn’t pick last years crop until this mid April at which time about 50 percent had laid down due to rotting at the base. He came back & chiseled and disked it twice which spread all the loose cobs out pretty good. He then replanted into it. What a mess, you can’t tell where the rows are in any direction. It now looks like he’s trying to cultivate it but can’t find the rows. What’s worse is rumors say it’s a Roundup ready variety. What’s this going to look like this fall? Wont it smother itself out?
