BV Or VB? Iron Patd. Apr 25 1876

Trying to identify what these came off of. Piece on bottom right says Patented APR 25 1876. The other two pieces say BV or VB On the back of one there is a v1 and the other has a v2. These are thick iron at least 1/8th' if not 3/16th'. What was grandpa keeping these around for?
