I just bought it ... and it has plenty of rough edges. But the old Perkins diesel is smooth as silk, and it pulls in every gear. There is something satisfying about fixing the old thing ... not nearly as true dealing with newer equipment. I have already started experimenting on colors. I'm not a purist, but I have been working to find a ... sort of authentic color scheme that I like. I'm thinking of basically a school bus yellow ... which is brighter than most of the industrial yellows, and I think I will do the loader in a matte black ... sort of the way New Holland does their industrial equipment. I'm still trying to decide what to do with the wheels.
