This photo was taken circa 1927-1933 on Russel Brook in Township 9-14 in the Allagash region of Maine.
The Madawaska Company was using this machine (leftover from a previous operation in 1913) to haul supplies to the railroad at Eagle Lake. Apparently they ran into a bit of trouble.
