1948 Ford 8N - Original Taurus Taillight And License Plate Bracket

I added an original 1948 MICHIGAN FARM license plate I found at a barn auction to help identify my tractor, year of make, and state. Many states did not require tractors to have license plates, Michigan included, but some did. Michigan did require any other vehicle used on the farm and highway to be licensed such as a work truck. The license plate bracket came as an option with the TAURUS tailight-another rare original item to find these days. Around 1950 the taillights were made by DUOLAMP and also came with a plate bracket. TAURUS and DUOLAMP parts were not interchangeable. Dennis Carpenter makes an exact-as-original DUOLAMP and is working on a TAURUS taillight too.
