Ford 8N Burn Tractor - Sherman Hole Plug

This is a pic of a Ford 8n that I saw at a tracor auction. It had been through a fire. The pic shows the area where you would expect to find a sherman trans hole. But the hole is plugged with a large screw head and it seems to go through to the other side of the trans. What do you think? Submitted by C. Bryant, from VA
