CLM Diesel Engine 3

CLM vertical 2 cylinder 2-stroke opposed piston diesel. Each cylinder has 3 webs on the crankshaft - the main web for the bottom (exhaust) piston, and 2 webs for the side rods for the inlet piston. The access hatch in the side of the crankcase allows all the rods to be detached from the crankshaft. The lower piston can then be removed up through the bore without touching the crankshaft. In this photo the conrod for the exhaust piston is at BDC and the 2 side rods for the inlet piston are at TDC. As the crankshaft revolves the pistons come together and the injector is in the centre of the cylinder.
